Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Formula Studio ("the App", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we handle when you use the App on Windows, mobile, or in the browser (PWA), why we handle it, and how we protect it. Data controller: Ismail Abu Almagd, Arab Republic of Egypt.
1. Local use (no account)
Your formulas, raw materials, batches, inventory, packages, finished goods, and notes are stored only on your device in a local database. We do not access or receive this data unless you enable cloud sync. Backups you create or restore are stored in the location you choose on your device.
2. Data we collect when you use cloud sync
This data is collected only if you create an account and enable sync:
- Account data: email address, company name, user role (admin / formula / read-only), creation date, and subscription expiry date.
- Password: never stored in plain text; we store only a salted cryptographic hash.
- Synced business data: formulas, ingredients, percentages, prices, and manufacturing steps; raw materials and suppliers; production batches; inventory movements; packages; finished goods; and the change log needed to sync your devices.
- Limited technical data: client IP addresses are converted to a hash to enforce usage limits and prevent abuse; raw IP addresses are not stored.
- Usage and analytics data (Android and web only): We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the App is used and to improve it. Clarity may collect device, browser, and operating system information, approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages/screens you open, your interactions (taps, clicks, scrolling, input), session recordings, and heatmaps, with sensitive content masked according to Clarity's settings. Clarity is not used in the Windows app. This data is subject to Microsoft's Privacy Statement and the Clarity Terms.
- Sign-in session: the session token is stored on your device, encrypted with the operating system's secure storage when available.
3. Supplier and manufacturer directory
The App shows a public directory. If you suggest an entry or report incorrect data, you may send us the entry details, your reason, and an optional contact email. We use it only to review the request and reply to you. Information submitted through the join/advertise form on our website (Google Forms) is also subject to Google's privacy policy.
4. How we use data
- To operate the App and sync data across your devices and team.
- To manage accounts, subscriptions, and permissions.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To protect the service from abuse and fraud and keep it stable.
- To analyze usage in aggregate and improve the App (Android and web).
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for marketing. We use no advertising trackers; analytics is limited to Microsoft Clarity in the Android and web versions, as described above.
5. Service providers
The cloud service and its database are hosted on Cloudflare (Pages and D1). Microsoft Clarity is used for analytics in the Android and web versions. Google Fonts is used to load fonts on our website, and Google Forms is used for the join form. Your data may be processed on servers outside Egypt. Communication with the service uses encrypted HTTPS. If you request subscription activation through WhatsApp, WhatsApp's policies apply to that conversation.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep account and synced data while your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and cloud data at any time at the email below, and we will process it within a reasonable time. Uninstalling the App removes local data according to your operating system's behavior; we recommend creating a backup first.
7. Security
We apply reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, per-company data isolation enforced by permissions, and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we recommend a strong password and regular backups.
8. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, restriction of processing, or withdraw your consent, as permitted by applicable law, including Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020. Contact us at the email below.
9. Children
The App is intended for manufacturers and professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The new version will be posted on this page with its update date, and continued use of the App means you accept it.
